These first posts have been like a reflection of the things I love the most. I couldn't let Ballet out of the list because this is the activity (besides writing and editing this blog) that helps me clear my mind, not only because it requires so many conscious movements at the same time that don't allow you to think about anything else but also because I enjoy every part of it. Besides, it is such and amazing discipline: it is complex but delicate and feminine, requires high concentration level and coordination and the accompanying music is exquisite (I'm absolutely in love with classical music, it's peaceful and beautiful). Furthermore the constant practice of Ballet provides a great posture and refined body expression.

The fragment of work behind is a photograph of my mother by my father. She danced Ballet for 20 years (I've been dancing for 15 years) and he studied photography, among other things. I want my dad to take a picture with the same pose so we can hang them together and probably start a family tradition.

Today I have a huge party of my grandfather's best friend (he is like my grandpa too). I'll upload some pictures of the look I chose and also of the party.

Estas primeras entradas han sido un reflejo de las cosas que amo. No podía dejar por fuera de la lista al Ballet porque esta es la actividad (además de escribir y editar este blog) que me ayuda a despejar mi mente, no sólo porque requiere de tantos movimientos conscientes al mismo tiempo que no te permiten pensar en nada más, sino también porque lo disfruto muchísimo. Además, es una disciplina maravillosa: es compleja pero delicada y femenina, requiere alto nivel de concentración y coordinación y la música que lo acompaña es exquisita (amo la música clásica , es tranquila y bella). Asimismo la práctica constante del Ballet proporciona buena postura y una refinada expresión corporal.

El fragmento de obra atrás es una fotografía de mi madre realizada por mi padre. Ella bailó ballet por 20 años (yo he bailado 15 años) y el estudió fotografía, entre otras cosas. Quiero que mi padre me tome una foto con la misma pose para que podamos colgarlas juntas y probablemente comenzar una tradición familiar.

Hoy tengo una gran fiesta del mejor amigo de mi abuelo (el es como un abuelo también). Subiré algunas fotos del look que elegí y también algunas de la fiesta.

Yesterday was such a hard monday after an incredibly short weekend. I apologize for not being able to post anything since the CIY post. On friday I went to the movies to watch "Hunger Games" with considerable high expectations due to all the "noise" Hollywood has made regarding this film. I like to be the first to see a movie because I hate when people change my expectations by telling me their opinions. That is why I am going to wait to make any comments about it. 

With this post I want to THANK YOU all for the amazing support I have recieved! It has been over 1000 views already within less than 10 days!!!! Furthermore, my CIY recipe has been already cooked!!!. I develop this blog not only for personal satisfaction but also for you to entertain and inspire in anyway you can.

Ayer fue un lunes difícil después de un fin de semana increíblemente corto. Les pido disculpas por no haber podido publicar desde la entrada de CTM. El viernes fui a cine a verme "Los Juegos del Hambre" (título que suena horrible en español) con considerables altas expectativas por aquello del gran "ruido" que Hollywood ha hecho sobre esta película. Me gusta ser la primera en vérmelas porque odio cuando las personas al darme sus opiniones, cambian mis expectativas. Es por eso que voy a esperar para hacer comentarios al respecto.

Con esta entrada quiero AGRADECERLES a todos por el maravilloso apoyo que he recibido. Ya llegamos a las 1000 visitas en menos de 10 días!!!! Además mi  receta de CTM ya fue elaborada por una de las lectoras. Yo desarrollo este blog no sólo por satisfacción personal sino también para que ustedes se entretengan y se inspiren de alguna manera.

You are probably thinking "what is it that this woman doesn't like?". Off course there are a lot of things I don't like, but cooking is certainty not the case. I first discovered this talent when I lived in Buenos Aires for 6 months, since then I've been trying a variety of recipes. I like to surprise people with unexpected flavors and beautiful presentations. Give it a try!!! You'll never know how good you can get with a little practice.  Ohh! I almost forgot to tell you that the original recipe is from "Criterión" (basically my bible in the kitchen) of the colombian talented chefs and brothers Jorge and Mark Rausch. I must confess I did some adaptations in order to make it possible for non-professional hands.

Es probable que esten pensando "¿qué es lo que a esta mujer no le gusta?". Por supuesto hay muchísimas cosas que no me gustan, aunque ciertamente cocinar no es una de ellas. Descubrí este talento cuando viví en Buenos Aires por 6 meses, desde entonces he intentato una variedad de recetas. Me encanta sorprender a las personas con sabores inesperados y hermosas presentaciones. Inténtalo!!! No sabes cuan bueno te puedes volver con un poco de práctica. Ohh! Casi olvidaba decirles que la receta original es de "Criterión" (básicamente mi biblia en la cocina) de los colombianos y talentosos chefs y hermanos Jorge y Mark Rausch.  Debo confesar que le hice algunas adaptaciones para poder hacerla posible a manos no-profesionales.

This is the first post of this type of series. With this blog I'm trying to integrate the things I love. You may already realized I am passionate about fashion but I haven't specifically mention yet my feelings towards art. That is why the idea to combine the two of them came up amazingly fast. I am completely in love with this bag, I can style it in so many different ways, that sometimes I need to convince myself to use the other ones. 

The fragment of work behind the bag is a acrylic on paper from the colombian artist Julio Russo. It belongs to my father's private collection; he is crazy about art, you will need to see my house to believe it, every single piece of wall at our apartment is embellished by one of his beloved pieces. Sometimes you can even find paintings on the floor as he is constantly changing and mixing them.

Esta es la primera entrada que hago de este tipo. Con este blog estoy tratando de integrar las cosas que amo. Posiblemente ya se habrán dado cuenta de mi pasión por la moda, más aún no he mencionado específicamente mis sentimientos hacia el arte. Es por esto que la idea de combinar los dos apareció sorprendentemente rápido. Estoy completamente enamorada de este bolso, puedo combinarlo en tantas formas distintas que aveces necesito convencerme de usar los demás.

El fragmento de obra detrás del bolso es un acrílico sobre papel del artista colombiano Julio Russo. Pertenece a la colección privada de mi padre, el cual es un loco por el arte, tendrían que ver mi casa para creerlo,  cada espacio de pared de nuestro apartamento está embellecida por una de sus amadas obras. En ocasiones hasta se pueden encontrar pinturas en el piso debido a que constantemente las esta cambiando y combinando.

FICCI (Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias)

In the “about me” section it mentions that I’m passionate about art in general, but it doesn’t specify how much I enjoy films. I study international business but I really love things related to culture, therefore once I had an elective course I chose “film analysis” and off course most of my friend’s reactions where: “what’s wrong with you” or “film analysis?? How boring”. Well, let me tell you that it was one of the most interesting classes I have ever taken, not only because I was interested in the content but also because the teacher is amazing, she is and expert in the field, co-founded the cinematheque of my city (by the way her name is Sara Harb) and furthermore the class was perfectly structured and full of things to learn. This entire preamble just gives you and idea of how much it meant to me to attend to the 52º edition of FICCI, (Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias) which took place from 23rd to 29th of February and is the oldest film festival in Latin America being founded in 1960.

Also the company was perfect. We had the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony where the president of Colombia gave the inaugural speech. The evening ended with the premiere of Chocó, film directed by Johnny Hendrix Hinestroza. We were part of several press conferences: Gael Garcia Bernal, Chocó, among others; but the epic moment of the whole trip was ISABELLA ROSSELLINI’S press conference, where I even got to ask her a question!!!! 

From this edition of the festival I strongly recommend to watch Chocó, Porfirio, a short film directed by Hani Skafi called The Bake Free (in spanish Costuras Amargas), Miss Bala and the short films series directed and starred by Isabella Rossellini Green Porno/Seduce Me.

If you like films as much as I do, this festival should be on top of your list because it combines great cinema with the beauty and charm of Cartagena city.

En la sección "about me" menciona que el arte en general me apasiona, pero no especifica cuanto disfruto los filmes. Soy estudiante de negocios internacionales pero amo las cosas relacionadas con la cultura, es por eso que cuando tuve que seleccionar una clase electiva elegí "análisis cinematográfico; por supuesto las reacciones de la mayoría de mis amigos fueron "que te sucede" o "análisis cinematográfico? que aburrido". Bueno, déjenme decirles que fue una de las clases más interesentes que he tomado, no sólo por mi interés por el contenido sino también porque la profesora es asombrosa, es una experta en el campo, cofundó la cinemateca de mi ciudad (por cierto su nombre es Sara Harb) y adicionalmente la clase estaba estructurada a la perfección y llena de cosas por aprender. Todo este preámbulo sólo les proporciona una idea sobre cuanto significó para mi participar del la 52º edición del FICCI (Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias) el cual se llevó del 23 al 29 de Febrero y es el festival de cine más antiguo de Latinoamérica siendo fundado en el año 1960.

Además la compañía fue perfecta. Tuvimos la oportunidad de presenciar la ceremonia de apertura en donde el presidente de Colombia ofreció el discurso inaugural. La velada cerró con el estreno de Chocó, filme dirigido por Johnny Hendrix Hinestroza. Hicimos parte de varias conferencias de prensa: Gael García Bernal, Chocó entre otras; pero el momento épico de todo el viaje fue la conferencia de prensa de ISABELLA ROSSELLINI, donde incluso tuve la oportunidad de hacerle una pregunta!!!
De esta edición del festival les recomiendo muchísimo ver Chocó, Porfirio, el corto dirigido por el barranquillero Hani Skafi llamado Costuras Amargas , Miss Bala, y la serie de cortos dirigidos y protagonizados por Isabella Rossellini Green Porno/Seduce Me.

Si te gustan los filmes tanto como a mi, este festival debe estar en los primeros puestos de tu lista porque combina el buen cine con la belleza y encanto de la ciudad de Cartagena.
